Net Retriever™ - Voice over Internet Protocol (NR-VoIP) Module

With the line between Internet and telephony becoming increasingly blurred by the rapid adoption of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology, it was only a matter of time before the standard PBX model was given a shake up.

New VoIP-enabled IP-PBX systems are beginning to replace traditional PBX systems in hospitality sites all round the world. Although VoIP technology is quickly overcoming the technology hurdles and providing cost effective quality connections between users – their inability to interface with most PMS is slowing their progress.

Like traditional PBX, most IP-PBX systems have a proprietary format for their Call Data Records (CDR) and also require this data to be collected, charged and passed on to a PMS or reporting package. However, some IP-PBX models have no CDR output and need to be upgraded to prepare them for the hospitality industry. Net Retriever™ can assist these IP-PBX manufacturers to develop a suitable CDR output and make them Net Retriever™ Compatible – and therefore compatible with most popular PMS.

The NR-VoIP module can also handle the bi-directional communications between a PMS and IP-PBX to enable or disable extensions and change the display name when a guest is checked in or out of the PMS.

Please feel free to contact us to discuss your interfacing needs.
